Subsidies

Government subsidies exist in an extremely wide domain, spanning environmental subsidies for power plants and waste-processing industries, financial contributions in PPF projects (such as the Zuidas in Amsterdam) and various forms of direct state support, such as public transport subsidies.

We have an expert understanding of the principles and processes needed to ensure that the entire subsidy application and granting process is lawful, including the European Law aspects of a subsidy. We also advise on disputes whether or not subsidies have been granted unjustifiably, such as the excessive funding received by several Dutch higher education institutions.
