Martin In de Braekt

Martin heads the Energy & Industry group of Stibbe. He has a wide range of experience in the energy and industrial sector. He acts as counsel to various large industrial companies and energy companies in business and financial matters. Furthermore, he has acted as counsel to sponsors, developers, contractors, lenders and other parties in energy and industrial projects (including project finance).

Credentials

• The Province of Gelderland in respect of the acquisition of Nuon Energy by Vattenfall. The Province of Gelderland was prior to this transaction the largest shareholder in Nuon and owned approximately 45% of the shares
• Electricité de France (EDF) in respect of the construction and operation of a new gas fuelled plant with a capacity of 870 MW. The new plant will be owned and operated by a joint venture between EDF and the Dutch energy company Delta
• Air Liquide in numerous matters including various acquisitions in the Netherlands and the Air Liquide Pergen cogeneration project on the Shell Pernis site in Rotterdam
• ENECO in respect of its participation in the 'Prinses Amaliawindpark' (formally known as Q7 Offshore Windpark)
• Bayer AG in respect of various matters (including its joint venture with Lyondell in the Rotterdam port area) and various other large industrial projects in various jurisdictions
• Accor on the € 863 million investment in 72 Germany-located and 19 Netherlands-located hotels by Moor Park Real Estate
• StatoilHydro in respect of various matters, which include projects, trading activities and regulatory matters and the acquisition of the West-European gas activities of Duke Energy
• RWE in respect of the management buy-out by SSM Coal and various other matters
