Gerard specializes in taxation, pensions, social securities and employee benefits and international assignments. He is the author of several tax handbooks as well as the annotator of case law. Throughout the nineties Gerard was also a Tax Law Professor at the University of Leiden. Since 1989 he has been interim 'Raadsheer' in the 'Belastingkamer Gerechtshof' at Leeuwarden, which Gerard combines with the court of 's-Hertogenbosch (since 2001) and Supreme Court on social security issues (Centrale Raad van Beroep - 2008).
